dec 5th - In Holland it is a tradition to give presents to your family on this night. It's the birthday of St. Nicolas. Normally there would be hot choco with the wind and the rain blowing around the house and everyone would sing sonbgs around the the fireplace. But this is Rwanda... And even here there are gifts from home! Ankie, Peter en Victor all got got a big choclate letter. Peter and Ankie are starting tot get used to Rwandan life. Peter is already very busy with checking out the current state of the internet connection while Ankie is having the feeling that she hasn't left at all! There were even a few kids who wondered where Edgar was (it has been two years since he's been there!) Tomorrow they will go swimming in Like Kivu. In Rwanda, saturday is a day off as well. After that Ankie will be in charge of painting the officebuilding together with a few kids (hopefully some pictures will be seen here soon) |

dec 3rd - Yesterday we arrived in Kigali. Tired of travelling, but also from all the planning and preparations wich have cost a lot of energy. How much you don't realise until the minute you arrive and everything falls into place. An 8 hour flight is an ideal time for peace and relaxation. The only thingswe did last night, was changing money and get ourselves checked in to our hotel . Yesterday is the day for the "Kigali-tour' . For Peter a whole new experience; for Ankie a lot of memories coming back to life! But at the same time we are busy buying al the equipment we need for Wireless Rwanda. We're really enoying ourselves! |

 2 December. This morning the time was there, Peter and Ankie are going to Rwanda. After a restless night at a hotel beside the Brussel airport, we took a bus to the airport. After Checking in and a cup of thee we hade to say farewell at ht custom authorities. Edgar and Barbara waited to see that everything was oke and the where gone. In the bus back to the hotel we received a sms that they where in the plane. As SN465 was planed to leave for Kigali at 10:40 we assume that the have left on time. |

1 dec - Afgelopen weekend is de server waarop deze website draait onbereikbaar geweest. Een paar uur na het vertrek van Peter uit Leeuwarden begon de storing. Heel vervelend. Gelukkig heeft Wouter, een vriend en oud-collega van Peter de storing zondagavond verholpen. Het bleek dat een van de netwerkkaarten van de firewall defect was. Na vervanging werkte alles weer naar behoren. Wouter bedankt! We hopen dat dit de laatste storing is tijdens ons verblijf in Rwanda. Zo niet, dan zal Wouter nog vaker bedankt gaan worden voor het verhelpen van de problemen om zo onze website draaiende te houden! |
